Israel’s 'historic crimes' condemned at London’s pro-Palestine rally

London, IRNA – Speech-makers at a Saturday demonstration in London, attended by nearly half a million pro-Palestine Britons, underlined that history will not forget the brutal crimes committed by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip.

Jeremy Corbyn, Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom, said, "Two weeks ago, we marched in London for a ceasefire. Last week, we marched for a ceasefire. Today, we marched for a ceasefire. This massacre has to end — we need a ceasefire, now."

Claudia Naomi Webbe, Member of the UK Parliament from the East Leicester region, said, “Gaza and all its people are being destroyed in complete darkness. Telecommunications including digital and internet connections cut. There’s death everywhere. Palestinians are being killed without dignity. Gaza is suffering, our silence is a betrayal. Call for a ceasefire now.”

Andrew Joseph McDonald, a British Labour politician and Member of Parliament, referred to the judgment of history concerning the Israeli regime’s genocide of Palestinian people and said, "We say to the UK, American and Israeli governments: Enough! Enough of the bombardment! Enough of the siege! Enough of the occupation! We won’t rest until we have justice. Until all people, Israelis & Palestinians, between the river & the sea can live in peaceful liberty."

Pro-Palestine demonstrators held protest rallies in the capital London and other major cities in Britain to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and censure the Israeli regime’s ruthless crimes. The British protesters called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged area, and the full liberation of Palestine.

London protesters marched towards Trafalgar Square after gathering on a street in the vicinity of the parliament. They also signed a petition, which was published on the parliament's website, warning that the continuation of Gaza bombardment could lead to an escalation of tensions in West Asia and aggravate the looming humanitarian crisis. As of Saturday night, the petition collected 157,538 signatures, while the number of signatories is speedily increasing.
